When Melbourne’s Backyard Honey beekeepers, Peter and Jane Dyer, realised that while many people dreamed of having beehives and harvesting their own pure raw unheated honey, they often did not have the time or apiary experience required.
Inspired by this, Peter and Jane pursued their beekeeping passion and developed an innovative urban apiary service, Backyard Honey, to provide city dwellers with the skills and equipment necessary to host honey-bee hives and harvest 100% pure raw local honey from their own backyards.
Today, Backyard Honey continues to grow and assist Melbourne’s communities to maintain viable and healthy populations of urban honey-bees to effectively increase local food production.
