Sonia is a Lecturer a who works at the intersection of health and sustainability with regards to food systems and is the pathway lead for the Health and Sustainability major in the Bachelor of Health Sciences. She leads research into the establishment of Farm to School Networks through Deakin's Circular School Food Program in order to remake connections between schools and farmers/producers and to increase the flow of healthy, locally grown food to school communities. Community Garden to Plate initiative linking campus community gardens with on-campus food, skills and nutrition education. Sonia is also co-founder and chair of the Deakin University, Burwood Campus Community Garden.
