Have you dreamed of growing your own green roof, but don’t know where to start? Come along to this basic information session on how to get started on your very own rooftop garden and learn from Dr Claire Farrell, Green Infrastructure expert, about the basic concepts and benefits.

Topics covered will include what is a green roof? What resources are available? What factors need to be taken into account in the design phase and for ongoing maintenance and care.

Dr Claire Farrell developed and coordinates Australia’s only university post-graduate course on green roofs and walls, and for the last seven years has focused on developing green roofs for Australian conditions.

Part of the Sustainable Living Festival, this event is a special edition of 'Canopy', a quarterly discussion forum that brings people together to share information and ideas for greening our cities.

Bookings essential, see here for details. For queries please contact yasmin.bushby@melbourne.vic.gov.
