The Therapeutic Landscapes annual conference is run by Therapeutic Horticulture Australia, and the theme for 2021 is Connect, Rest and Restore. Over the two days we will be exploring the idea of "Restorative Landscapes" through activity-based workshops, presentations, discussions and events. The focus will be on the many and varied ways nature, gardens, horticulture or green spaces can function as restorative spaces - places that improve our health and wellbeing, lower stress and connect us with nature and with others. We will explore the challenges, enablers and impacts of connecting, resting, and restoring health and wellbeing in natural environments. It will be a blended format of face-to-face plus web-based presentations and live streaming.
The Australian Therapeutic Landscapes Conference is the only national conference for people working and researching in the therapeutic horticulture sector, and every year brings together between 100-200 delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and internationally. In 2021 the two day event will be held at Hobart, Tasmania. The formal conference will be followed by one day of local tours in regional Tasmania (Sunday 2 May 2020).
