Sharron Pfueller

President, Sustainable Gardening Australia

As President and Manager of the not-for-profit Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA), I lead a small team of staff and volunteers engaged in research and education to inspire and assist gardeners learn how to protect the natural environment, grow local healthy food, enhance biodiversity and build community.

Previously I was a Monash University researcher and senior lecturer in environment and sustainability.  I also has a background in biomedical science research in universities in Australia and Switzerland. I have served on the Monash City Council Environment Advisory Committee, the Westernport Biosphere Research Committee, government consultative committees for water management and Landcare and currently lead a local harvest share/swap.

About Sustainable Gardening Australia

Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) is a not-for-profit social organisation dedicated to achieving a healthy biodiverse planet and vibrant, sustainable communities.  It is a registered charity.

Its principal purposes are to:

1. encourage, educate and enable home and professional gardeners to adopt sustainable gardening practices to protect or enhance the natural environment or a significant aspect of it; and

2. provide information or education, or carry on research about, the natural environment or a significant aspect of it.
