Jacqulyn Evans is a PhD candidate in the interdisciplinary space combining anthropology and microbiology at La Trobe University. She recently completed a Masters by Research, in which she developed a framework to conduct research and solve problems which require both the biological and social sciences working together in concert. Jacqulyn’s PhD research focuses on community organisations engaging in urban farming, sustainability, and grass roots solutions to food system issues. Her investigation also examines participants use of amendments and development of soil health in the production of food, and the impact this relationship has on the local microbial ecology.
