Dr Rachel Carey is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where she researches sustainable food systems, food security and food production on Melbourne’s urban fringe.
She leads the Foodprint Melbourne project, which is investigating environmental challenges to Melbourne’s future food supply, including pressures from urban sprawl, climate change and water scarcity.
Rachel has a background in food policy, and has worked on food policies for the City of Melbourne and City of Greater Geelong. She is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Food Policy at City University, London.
